Experience from UZurich 2019

When we characterized this part by redoing the OD measurement we found that the OD does not decrease drastically after 20 hours. Instead we observed a decline in growth during the log-phase that leveled out at an OD of around 1.5 which was still stable after 20 hours.

We therefore hypothesize that the production of the proteins EutM and EutN are detrimental to growth but not generally toxic to the cells, as Manchester proposed in 2017.
